As a Wave Planning Associate at Kuehne+Nagel, you will help coordinate the timely flow of work throughout the warehouse. By planning and prioritizing customer orders in the warehouse management system, you will directly support productivity, order accuracy, customer schedules, and on-time shipping performance. How you create impact
- Plan, prioritize, and release customer orders in the warehouse management system to meet customer schedules and shipping commitments.
- Monitor order volume, workload, labor capacity, inventory availability, cutoff times, and operational priorities throughout the shift.
- Maintain a consistent flow of work to warehouse teams and notify operational leaders when work is limited or priorities change.
- Ensure customer orders are waved, allocated, and processed in the correct sequence based on established priorities.
- Communicate customer-requested changes related to scheduling, processing, order priority, and shipping to warehouse operations.
- Identify stock replenishment needs, communicate requirements to the appropriate associates, and confirm expectations are understood.
What we would like you to bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, shipping, receiving, inventory, or logistics environment preferred.
- Experience using a warehouse management system (WMS) to release, prioritize, monitor, or manage warehouse work preferred.
- Working knowledge of order fulfillment, picking, replenishment, inventory allocation, shipping, and warehouse workflow processes.
- Knowledge of order entry systems, customer requirements, and warehouse transaction processing preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
