This position at Kuehne+Nagel is part of the Aerospace leadership team, where you can shape the vertical`s vision. As Vice President, Global Aerospace Strategic Customer Development you'll own a focused portfolio of larger, high-potential accounts within the vertical. Your core mission is winning new business — but you'll also nurture and grow a select group of existing customers. Because your portfolio has a global footprint with and more strategic approach, you'll carry fewer of them, giving you the room to go deep: understand each customer's challenges, design tailored solutions, and convert opportunities that matter.
If you think in terms of specific trade lanes and bundles, read a customer's challenges before they spell them out, and know how to translate all of that into the right pricing and solution, you'll thrive on this team.
How you create impact
Grow and win new business
- Proactively seek out and engage new prospects across Aerospace.
- Present, promote, and sell our products and services with compelling, well-built arguments.
- Run needs analyses to tailor solutions that fit each customer's real requirements.
- Generate pipeline through cold outreach and a mix of other channels.
Manage accounts strategically
- Take a deliberate, analytical approach to every account — mapping relationship depth, customer pain points, and needs at the lane and bundle level to maximize conversion.
- Lead regular business reviews for your accounts, supported by stakeholders across the business unit.
- Stay close to your customers through consistent, face-to-face engagement, deepening relationships and sharpening your understanding of their needs so you can price and solution accurately.
Collaborate to close
- Partner with colleagues across the air logistics organization to maximize conversion.
- Get involved early in Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to position our offering before the competition does.
What we would like you to bring
- 5+ years of commercial experience.
- 5+ years in logistics.
- 2+ years of international experience.
- 2+ years of project management experience.
- A genuine "hunter" mindset paired with the relationship skills to farm and grow accounts.
- Confidence selling complex, solution-based offerings to senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and analytical judgment — comfortable with pricing, lanes, and bundled solutions.
- Full command of your product area, communicated with credibility and commitment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel for regular in-person customer meetings.
