As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. You will be responsible to optimize operations in the Contract Logistics Team with focus on quality, workflow and efficiency. Lead the team for KN to be the most respected Frieght Forwarding & Logistics group in the market. Ensure the team delivers high quality services according to the Client's contract, SOP's and support consistent and profitable growth in the team department. From the Contract Logistics Team perspective plan, organize and coordinate the organization resources on a daily basis to meet client requirements and maximize operating revenue. The position has an operational responsibility to ensure day-to-day operations are performed in line with QSHE regulations, routines and procedures, and in compliance with KN guidelines and Code of Conduct.
How you create impact
- With operational know-how solve and organize team operations to fulfill KN vision and client requirements. Responsible for the team to understand, follow and maintain KN quality systems.
- Take the role as daily team leader and supervisor for the team. The Team leader shall organize, coordinate and make sure team handles its assignment with the optimal usage of resources.
- Identify important daily operational priorities and make necessary decisions. Involve relevant stakeholders when necessary.
- Keep track of level of resources, qualifications, structure and certifications within the team. Cooperate with Warehouse Manager to secure optimal level of resources to handle existing and future work load.
- Act as a key person and problem solver in front of employees and sub-contractors.
- Operational reporting and documentation according to SOP, routines and regulations.
- In cooperation with Warehouse Manager lead or coordinate continuous improvements projects in the team. Ensure optimal cooperation between operation, sales and product organization.
- To lead and administrate the team operations in accordance with QSHE regulations, routines and processes. Ensure that all leaders, departments and employees at the branch organization have the required information, knowledge and skills to perform their job accordingly to QSHE policies.
- Proactively implement and improve the operations in accordance with existing and new QSHE targets, regulations and routines.
- Contact person for employees. Receive and provide relevant information upwards and downwards.
What we would like you to bring
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Contract Logistics/ Warehouse Leadership.
- Like to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and have the ability to keep calm under stressful situations
- Are responsive, curious and interested in developing yourself and developing others
- Like to solve problems and have a good planning ability with a sense of structure
- Strong leadership skills are a must
- Must take ownership of all operational pieces within assigned department(s)
- Spanish/ English basic knowledge.
- Basic knowledge MS Office
- LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen preferred
- Warehouse Management Systems experienced.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
