In this role, you will have general responsibility for managing daily QSHE activities to ensure the site stays compliant. Reporting to our QSHE Manager, you will be deeply involved in inspections to ensure compliance with the company, client, and regulatory requirements. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace. Your expected work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
How you create impact
- Conduct daily site safety rounds to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Facilitate and participate in safety committee meetings to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Maintain and update inspection sheets for daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
- Perform 5S and ergonomics audits to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Lead safety communications including daily safety topics, email newsletters, QR code updates, and visual displays across site boards and monitors.
- Execute Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) inspections in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Complete GFCC sustainability reporting and contribute to environmental compliance initiatives.
- Utilize the Plastics Waste Calculator for environmental impact tracking (one-time task).
- Manage and support the Environmental Committee to drive sustainability goals.
- Administer the Safety Stop Card program and HSE App usage to encourage proactive hazard reporting.
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections including racks, harnesses, ladders, fire extinguishers, pest control, forklifts, and other equipment, both internally and externally.
- Perform inspections of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with 5S principles.
- Generate ad hoc reports to support safety and environmental initiatives.
- Complete administrative tasks with precision, timeliness, and attention to detail.
What we would like you to bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in a warehousing environment- Healthcare/pharma
- 1+ years in a full-time Safety role- Safety associate/specialist
- Advanced Excel and Word skills
- Understanding of quality/safety systems requirements- ISO9001 and ISO45001.
- Lift heavy material of up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods
