As part of the Contract Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in designing, managing, and optimizing solutions that keep goods moving efficiently. Your Role

To ensure suppliers’ production capacity commitments are met, enabling customers to produce the desired vehicle volume.

▪ First, targeting risks in order to select the most appropriate approaches for each supplier.

▪ Then, conducting these differentiated and graduated interventions (depending on the findings). They range from document analysis to on-site audits.

▪ Finally, following up on the decided action plans and contributing to capacity investment decisions.

Your Responsibilities

Based on alerts raised by customer supply teams: poor service level, backlogs.

▪ Assess whether the supplier complies with criteria impacting its production capacity, based both on documents and on-site checks; in particular assess the production resources themselves and organizational aspects (staffing and skills of production teams).

▪ Identify the bottleneck in the supplier’s production process through observation, process understanding, and, where appropriate, measurements; then establish the effective capacity.

▪ Select and deploy relevant indicators to highlight the supplier’s capacity issues and improvement potential, measure them on site, and track their evolution over time (e.g., cycle time, production stability, scrap rate, production workforce organization).

▪ Contribute to identifying action plans (e.g., workstation reorganization) based on role knowledge and documented best practices, including an assessment of the planned timeline, resources committed, and management approach.

▪ Debrief after on-site audits and obtain the plant manager’s commitment to the identified action plan. Ensure topics are synthesized, structured, and made as accessible as possible so that all contributors can take ownership.

▪ Contribute to preparing the decision-making bodies associated with these action plans, especially when investments are required and borne by the Group, by developing the rationale based on objective and quantified criteria.

▪ Lead the functions involved to ensure agreed action plans deliver the expected results. Request evidence or measurements, identify problematic deviations, and decide on a new audit where appropriate. Decide whether to reduce or, on the contrary, strengthen follow-up.
