Global Customs Business Development Manager

Drive sustainable growth of Kuehne+Nagel’s customs stand-alone business in Asia Pacific by identifying, qualifying, and converting high-value opportunities across global, national, and BU portfolios.

How you create impact

Account & Prospect Qualification

  • Identify and prioritize high-value global and national accounts through account intelligence, ensuring internal alignment so KN focuses on the most strategic customs opportunities.

Opportunity Development & Client Engagement

  • Drive customs stand‑alone opportunities by progressing qualified prospects from early engagement through RFQ, leading client interactions, and clearly articulating KN’s solutions, value proposition, and delivery capabilities.

Commercial & Contracting Support

  • Support Key Account Managers by managing credit checks, contracts, MSAs, and SOWs while ensuring strong commercial governance, pricing discipline, and alignment with the regional customs strategy.

Pipeline & Revenue Delivery

  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline aligned to annual customs growth targets to consistently meet and exceed revenue goals through disciplined opportunity management and proactive business development.

Market Presence & Networking

  • Represent KN at industry events, trade shows, and logistics forums to expand the network, strengthen market presence, and generate new leads.

Customer Engagement & Market Activity

  • Track client engagement and market presence through the volume of client meetings and presentations, industry event participation and lead generation, and available customer satisfaction feedback.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Assess effectiveness through the quality and timeliness of support to KAMs, adherence to pricing, governance, and pipeline standards, and feedback from internal regional stakeholders.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 

Revenue & Growth
• Annual customs revenue delivered vs. target (ASP region).
• Gross profit contribution from customs stand-alone wins.
• Year-over-year growth of customs stand-alone business in assigned markets. Pipeline Quality & Conversion
• Qualified pipeline value
• Opportunity conversion rate from qualified prospect → RFQ → win.
• Time-to-qualification and time-to-proposal cycle efficiency. 

Account Penetration & Coverage
• Number of global accounts assessed with documented customs potential.
• Number of new prospects activated from national account and BU portfolios.
• Share of wallet expansion within existing strategic accounts.

What we would like you to bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in sales or business development, ideally in customs, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Good understanding of customs brokerage, trade compliance, and customs requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Fluent in English, willing to travel within Asia Pacific; Mandarin is a plus.
