As a Data/Analytics Engineer, you'll join our BI team to design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using our modern data stack (SQL, dbt, Python, Snowflake, GitLab and Dagster), implementing transformations for critical reporting and dashboards. And you will work in an Analytical Data Product implemented in a Data Mesh approach and will be part of the team with total ownership over that Analytical Data Product with direct impact in our business units. How you create impact
- Designs, develops, tests, and maintains scalable data transformation pipelines.
- Collaborates with BI developers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, implementing transformations based on business rules.
- Develops and implements data models optimized for BI, ensuring accuracy and performance.
- Champions and contributes to automated data documentation and cataloging, utilizing version control (GitLab) and contributing to CI/CD processes.
- Implements and monitors data orchestration workflows (Dagster) and data quality checks.
- Optimizes query performance and data pipeline efficiency.
- Assists senior roles in mentoring junior team members, contributes to the company's Data Mesh architecture, and applies Agile methodologies.
What we would like you to bring
- Holds a Bachelor's IT degree or equivalent practical experience, with 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in SQL, writing complex queries, and experience with data modeling techniques for data warehousing and BI.
- Possesses solid understanding and hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools, with dbt experience being highly desirable.
- Experienced with at least one programming language (Python preferred) and cloud data warehouse platforms (preferably Snowflake).
- Proficient with version control systems (Git/GitLab) and has experience with Agile practices.
- Exhibits excellent problem-solving, analytical, and English communication skills, with the capacity to manage risks and opportunities in their own development.
- Experienced in implementing data quality rules, monitoring alerts, orchestration tools, and transforming business rules into technical definitions; MacOS/WSL experience is a plus.
- Experience in Python for data manipulation and automation tasks is a plus.
