Sea Logistics Pricing Specialist

We are seeking a Sea Logistics Pricing Specialist to join our Cooltainer team, based in either Auckland or Tauranga.

In this role, reporting to the Cooltainer Commercial Manager, you will manage pricing for our Cooltainer customers, including preparing quotes, optimising revenue, and developing effective working relationships with key service providers such as rail, shipping lines, and cartage companies.

How you create impact

  • Produce quotes for Cooltainer customers, mainly Australia to New Zealand, Australia Deep Sea Imports & Exports

  • Procure rates from carriers in Australia & New Zealand

  • Liaise with Kuehne + Nagel Europe to procure Europe to Australia/New Zealand

  • Manage the FSL to ensure maximisation of job profitability

  • Maintain tariffs and auto costing/freighting database

  • In conjunction with Commercial Manager, set quarterly and yearly budgets – both customer volume and margins

  • Review monthly customer performance against set targets

  • Ensure Cooltainer has the required weekly capacity with carriers

  • Produce monthly reporting for Commercial Manager & Director of Reefer & Perishables Australia & New Zealand

  • Meet regularly with current and prospective customers

  • Acknowledge and approve invoices

  • Liaise with Ports/Carriers on extra free time/late receivals

Note: These accountabilities may change from time to time to meet operational or other requirements.

What we would like you to bring

  • Previous experience and understanding of International Shipping and Freight processes

  • Understanding of all three core trade lanes (NZ, Australia, SPI and Deep Sea/International)

  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial and financial margin expectations

  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritise your time, especially under pressure and with a busy workload

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks

  • Excellent attention to detail coupled with a high level of accuracy
