As a Seafreight Import Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in coordinating import sea freight shipments. You will manage bookings, prepare shipping documentation, and collaborate with carriers, partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless transportation processes and excellent customer service while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
How you create impact
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining accurate shipment details in internal systems, including carrier, vessel, and cargo information.
- Coordinating import shipment activities with Customer Care teams, haulers, and carriers to ensure seamless execution.
- Preparing and managing consolidation container files (Master and Single shipments).
- Reviewing shipping instructions and ensuring compliance with customer requirements, country regulations, import compliance standards, routing guidelines, and agreed rates.
- Identifying opportunities to maximize profitability through effective operational and rate management.
- Promptly reporting operational issues, disputes, and discrepancies to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitoring carrier and vendor performance and escalating issues when service commitments are not met.
- Investigating and resolving rate discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with Sales and Customer Care teams to support account implementation and ensure a smooth transition from sales to operations.
What we would like you to bring
- Experience in logistics or freight forwarding; sea freight experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
