For our office in the vibrant heart of Rotterdam, we are looking for an Intermodal Transport Specialist focused on FCL Container Transport, Sea Logistics and Supply Chain Operations.

In this role, you will coordinate and manage Full Container Load (FCL) transport operations for international customers. You ensure containers are transported efficiently via road, barge and inland transport networks, arriving at the correct loading and unloading location at the agreed time.

You will support our Sea Logistics, Ocean Freight and Freight Forwarding teams with operational planning, transport solutions, carrier coordination and customer quotations. Working closely with Import, Export and Customs colleagues, you will play a key role in optimizing container flows to and from the Port of Rotterdam.

This position offers the opportunity to combine transport planning, logistics coordination, customer service and supply chain management. By leveraging data and operational insights, you contribute to service excellence, cost optimization and continuous process improvements.

How you create impact

  • Coordinate and manage FCL container transport operations across road, barge and inland transport providers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders within Sea Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Customs and Supply Chain Operations.
  • Liaise with transport providers and logistics partners to ensure smooth execution of customer shipments.
  • Monitor daily transport planning and proactively resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Provide customers and stakeholders with shipment updates and status reports.
  • Collect and validate operational data for accurate invoicing and reporting.
  • Verify subcontractor invoices and ensure data quality within logistics systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency, customer satisfaction and operational performance.

What we would like you to bring

  • MBO level education and working capability.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Freight Forwarding, Ocean Freight, Container Transport, Shipping or Intermodal Transport Operations.
  • Experience with FCL transport, container logistics or sea freight is highly preferred.
  • Strong customer-focused and commercial mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English, spoken and written.
  • Dutch is considered a strong advantage.
  • Available full-time (40 hours per week).
