We are looking for a Contract Logistics Customer Solutions Lead Engineer EMEA who thrives on designing innovative logistics solutions that win and retain customers. This position can based in Italy, Germany or the Netherlands.

How you create impact

As a Customer Solutions Lead Engineer for the Consumer vertical, your primary objective is to win and retain customers by delivering industry leading logistics solutions. As a recognised subject matter expert and part of the Project Directors pool, you will lead complex solution designs, drive innovation, and work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams across EMEA to shape high value, customer centric results.

• Lead complex customer tender responses end to end within the Consumer vertical, acting as the main solution contact and shaping best in class contract logistics concepts from initial design through customer decision making.
• Act as a trusted solution partner to customers by leading workshops to identify supply chain challenges specific to Consumer logistics and translating them into robust, value driven solutions.
• Design, develop, and present compelling contract logistics solutions that clearly articulate the value proposition through innovative concepts, models, technologies, and equipment.
• Drive innovation by introducing and implementing new solution concepts and technologies, while building on and evolving established best practices within Consumer logistics operations.
• Lead and support complex solution implementations and optimisation initiatives, ensuring high quality delivery, compliance, and sustainable operational outcomes.
• Mentor and guide engineers during tendering, implementation, and optimisation activities, supporting skills development, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders and management teams, acting as a Consumer solutions expert and business partner when addressing customer queries and constructively challenging the status quo where needed.
• Manage and develop partnerships with key vendors to optimise cost structures, lead times, technical capability, and overall solution performance.
• Define and embed best practices within areas of expertise by staying ahead of market, technology, and Consumer industry trends, sharing expertise through training and knowledge development initiatives.

What we would like you to bring

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• You bring at least 10+ years of experience in a similar role within contract logistics solutions engineering, customer solutions, or supply chain design, ideally within Consumer focused environments.
• You have a proven track record of designing and delivering solutions for complex tenders and implementations, combining strong technical expertise with commercial and financial awareness.
• You demonstrate strong leadership skills through influence, guiding and aligning colleagues across functions while driving collaboration and shared accountability for successful outcomes.
• You communicate with impact and confidence, and enjoy engaging stakeholders through workshops, presentations, and collaborative solution discussions.
• You take pride in your attention to detail and hold yourself to high standards when it comes to quality, compliance, and delivering robust solutions.
• You are naturally curious and motivated to stay ahead of logistics, technology, and market trends, using this insight to continuously improve Consumer solution design.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
• Willingness to travel regularly, primarily within Europe, is essential for this role.
