Road Logistics, Business Development Manager

We are on the hunt for someone to join our Road Logistics team as a Business Development Manager, based in Auckland!

Joining a tight‑knit, high‑performing team, this role is best suited to someone who has a solid understanding of the New Zealand domestic transport market, is self‑driven and motivated to hit and exceed targets.

 

How you create impact

  • Identify new business prospects, and complete discovery calls to understand their needs and fit as a potential customer

  • Engage in online and physical meetings with potential customers to build relationships

  • Create and convert a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities to deliver on sales targets and KPIs

  • Ensure up‑to‑date and relevant customer information, sales activities and growth potential is transparent in CoreLog

  • Act as a consultant for customers and as a Road Logistics subject matter expert, including developing and delivering sales proposals and presentations on Kuehne+Nagel products and services

  • Build end‑to‑end solutions based on Kuehne+Nagel’s road logistics services and solutions as well as online platform myKN

  • Facilitate the implementation of new and additional business alongside Road Logistics team members

  • Conduct research regarding market potentials as well as share customer feedback with internal stakeholders

What we would like you to bring

  • Solid understanding of the New Zealand domestic transport industry

  • Proven track record in solutions sales with success in gaining new business and growing margins

  • Demonstrated ability to form and maintain strong, trusting working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, coupled with the ability to relate to potential customers to achieve desired outcomes
