As a Sea Logistics Customer Care Specialist, Import, you will support customers throughout the import shipment process while working closely with our Sea Logistics teams to provide accurate information, resolve issues, and deliver a consistent customer experience.
You do not need extensive freight forwarding experience to be successful in this role. We are looking for someone with strong communication and customer service skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and teammates. Previous logistics or sea freight experience is helpful, but we are open to early-career candidates who are ready to grow within the industry.
How you create impact
You will support customers and help coordinate day-to-day Sea Logistics activity, initially spending the majority of your time supporting two key customers while also providing broader support to the branch as business needs evolve.
- Respond to customer inquiries through email, phone, and other communication channels
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and reliable service
- Monitor shipments and exceptions and work with internal teams to resolve issues
- Coordinate closely with Operational Care, Field Sales, and other internal partners to support customer needs
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and activity in internal systems
- Support pricing requests and spot quotes as needed
- Help identify process improvements and opportunities to improve the customer experience
- Support customer account performance and assist with financial and service-related follow-up
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and strong customer service
What we would like you to bring
You bring strong people skills, communicate clearly, and enjoy helping customers solve problems. You are comfortable learning new systems and processes and can stay organized while managing multiple priorities.
- Customer service, account support, logistics, transportation, or similar experience is preferred
- Previous experience in freight forwarding or Sea Logistics is helpful, but not required
- Entry-level and early-career candidates with strong transferable skills are encouraged to apply

This position pays approximately $31.25 to $32.21 per hour and is eligible for overtime based on business needs. Base pay is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles.
New hires will work fully onsite during the first 90 days for training and onboarding. Following the initial training period, the team generally follows a four-day onsite and one-day remote work schedule.
Individual pay may vary within the range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
