Job Description
Project Logistics Customer Excellence Specialist

It's more than a job

When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. But that is not all. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors. At Kuehne+Nagel, our contribution counts in more ways than we imagine.

Join Kuehne+Nagel’s Project Logistics team, where you will play a key role in coordinating complex shipments, supporting critical global supply chains, and ensuring exceptional customer service. As a Project Logistics Customer Excellence Specialist, you will oversee transport operations across multiple modes, maintain high data‑quality standards, and ensure a seamless experience for both customers and internal partners. This role combines operational execution, customer interaction, documentation excellence, and a strong focus on safety. You will support the smooth movement of specialized, oversized, and project‑based cargo by coordinating with internal teams, managing documentation, monitoring performance, and ensuring customers receive accurate, timely information. Your work directly contributes to operational success and customer satisfaction on every shipment.

How you create impact

  • Coordinate and supervise the movement of project cargo across air, sea, road, barge, and charter transport, ensuring all service and performance requirements are met.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact, providing updates, answering inquiries, and resolving operational issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate, timely data across all relevant systems and ensure high standards of data integrity at all times.
  • Prepare and review essential shipment documentation, including customs paperwork, declarations, and transport records.
  • Work closely with internal partners on our pricing, operations, revenue care, hubs, and engineering teams to ensure seamless handovers and coordinated execution.
  • Support accurate invoicing by managing billing activities, validating vendor invoices, and ensuring proper cost and accrual entries.
  • Prepare spot quotations, assist with tender data, and contribute to commercial support activities as needed.

What we would like you to bring

  • 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, project logistics, or multimodal cargo operations; air freight beneficial.
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills with the ability to build collaborative and trust‑based relationships.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities, especially when managing data, documentation, and time‑sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Understanding of logistics documentation processes, customs procedures, and operational workflows.
  • Experience handling complex shipments (oversized, heavy lift, breakbulk, out‑of‑gauge) is a strong advantage.

This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
