Project Logistics Cost Controller

You will be responsible for maintaining cost visibility, validating operational expenses, supporting billing processes, and ensuring financial accuracy across project logistics activities including marine operations, heavy-lift transport, and port logistics. This role works closely with operations, procurement, finance teams, and vendors to ensure project profitability and compliance with financial and contractual requirements.

How you create impact

Cost Control & Financial Monitoring

  • Track and validate operational costs related to project logistics activities including vessel chartering, port services, heavy-lift operations, and marine logistics.
  • Monitor project costs against budgets, cost codes, and WBS structures.
  • Support monthly financial closing, cost accruals, and margin tracking.

Billing & Revenue Support

  • Support billing processes for logistics and marine services such as vessel charter milestones, port charges, and project logistics services.
  • Ensure proper documentation (Statements of Facts, DPRs, operational reports) is available to support billing and revenue recognition.
  • Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and customer queries.

Operational Cost Validation

  • Review vendor invoices related to marine services, port operations, and project logistics activities.
  • Validate charges such as demurrage, vessel day rates, bunker adjustments, and port tariffs.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial reports and cost analysis for project logistics operations.
  • Highlight cost variances and support corrective actions with operations and procurement teams.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure financial documentation complies with internal policies, project contracts, and audit requirements.
  • Support internal audits and customer financial reviews when required.

What we would like you to bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline.

Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in finance, cost control, or project logistics finance.
  • Exposure to EPC logistics, project cargo, marine operations, or port logistics is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of project costing, billing processes, and financial reporting.

Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and vendors.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
