Join our fascinating and international working environment and be part of the data team responsible for one of the analytical domains of Kuehne+Nagel. We are looking for a Mid-Level Data/Analytics Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team in Porto. You will design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using a modern data stack - SQL, dbt, Python, Snowflake, GitLab, and Dagster, contributing directly to our Data Mesh architecture and Analytical Data Products.

How you create impact

  • Develop and maintain scalable data transformation pipelines.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions with BI developers and analysts.
  • Design and implement data models optimized for BI reporting.
  • Automate data documentation, utilize version control GitLab and contribute to CI/CD processes.
  • Monitor data workflows and quality 
  • Optimize query performance and pipeline efficiency.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery processes.

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–5+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling for BI.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools, especially dbt.
  • Proficiency in Python and cloud data platforms (preferably Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with Git/GitLab and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with MacOS or WSL environments is a plus
  • Exposure to Data Mesh principles and mentoring practices is plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in English.
  • Experience with data quality monitoring and orchestration tools.
