As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. Responsibilities
- Organise transport and Value Added Services per customer needs and service agreements.
- Coordinate with customers on pick-up, delivery locations, timing, and operational needs.
- Facilitate permits, customs documents, and regulatory compliance.
- Arrange Value Added Services like fumigation, container stuffing, and Certificates of Origin.
- Manage daily communication with external vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate competitive rates while maintaining service levels and quality.
- Monitor vendor performance and address service issues proactively.
- Manage Dangerous Goods approvals for import/export shipments per regulations.
- Maintain shipment status updates and upload documentation into Kuehne+Nagel systems.
- Review rates to identify cost improvement opportunities.
- Support procurement and vendor optimisation initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth customer experience.
- Identify process, service quality, and efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience within Sea Logistics, Freight Forwarding in a customer service or similar field.
- Good understanding of the Australian logistics market and operational requirements.
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, or external service providers.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with negotiation and cost management abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with customs, permits, Dangerous Goods, or logistics compliance is advantageous.
- Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office.
- Proactive, customer-focused approach.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
