Join our National Logistics Transport Operations Center and play a key role in supporting our Contract Logistics business through financial analysis, invoice management, performance reporting, and profitability optimization. This position can be based at either our Tessenderlo (Belgium) or Contern (Luxembourg) site
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the invoicing cycle, ensuring billing accuracy, proper cost allocation, and financial transparency across our transport operations. Working closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and carriers, you will analyze freight costs, investigate discrepancies, resolve invoicing issues, and provide actionable insights that support profitability and business performance. We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, advanced Excel knowledge, and the confidence to challenge processes and identify improvement opportunities.
How you create impact
- Act as the main point of contact for all finance-related topics with internal and external stakeholders;
- Ensure accurate invoicing, billing, and cost allocation throughout the full billing cycle;
- Manage month-end financial processes and customer account closures;
- Investigate billing discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and resolve invoice-related issues;
- Analyze transport costs, expenses, and financial performance to identify deviations and opportunities;
- Validate financial results and provide transparency through accurate reporting and data analysis;
- Monitor financial and operational KPIs, including freight audit results, billing accuracy, and on-time billing;
- Prepare financial reports and insights on key logistics metrics, such as turnover, volumes, freight spend, and savings;
- Support business decision-making through financial analysis, risk assessments, and ad hoc reporting;
- Drive continuous improvement by developing financial tools, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance processes and service performance.
What we would like you to bring
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within finance, logistics, transportation, or supply chain environments;
- Advanced English (written and spoken) is a must; any additional language is considered a strong advantage;
- Experience managing invoicing processes, billing cycles, invoice validation, cost allocation, and resolving invoice-related discrepancies;
- Advanced Excel skills are mandatory, including Pivot Tables, formulas, arrays, macros, and reporting;
- Proven ability to build and manage financial models for forecasting, variance analysis, cost control, and problem-solving;
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, investigate deviations, and provide actionable insights;
- Customer-focused and solution-oriented approach, with the confidence to challenge processes, question results, and drive improvements;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including advanced PowerPoint proficiency and the ability to interact with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders;
- Ability to manage time-critical tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong understanding of quality, compliance, and confidentiality standards; experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and knowledge of logistics or transport operations are strong advantages.
