As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. You will be joining our Operational Care Team to add your expertise + skills to the delivery of Operational Excellence.
You will be enabling transport activities by executing bookings, entering orders + generating all required import documentation while liaising with our Customer Care Specialists (CCL) to ensure all requirements are met (in a timely and efficient manner).
These activities are in line with all relevant governance + regulatory requirements.
How you create impact
- To monitor + report on operational performance of carriers + other vendors as well as ensuring strong data quality for timely + accurate customer reporting.
- To review any routing changes, collaborating with the CCL + service providers, re-arranging KN services if necessary.
- To validate + follow up with carriers on arrival notices + carrier invoices ensuring timely delivery order (DO) receipts.
- To ensure shipping instructions + documents are compliant; that deviations are quickly addressed.
- To coordinate with all suppliers + internal stakeholders for shipment imports, arranging for KN services (trucking, customs clearance) where necessary.
- To escalate issues as relevant, + to support the resolution of claims + disputes.
- To check incoming invoices, create sales invoices, managing FSL as per Financial Guidelines + working instructions.
- To release cargo in line with working instructions + Financial Guidelines.
What we would like you to bring
- 2–5 years of experience in Sea Logistics / Freight Forwarding, preferably in Import Operations.
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end import shipments and cargo release.
- Strong knowledge of import documentation, shipping instructions, arrival notices and Delivery Orders (DO).
- Experience coordinating with carriers, vendors, transporters and customs brokers.
- Good understanding of routing changes, carrier schedules and shipment planning.
- Experience in carrier/vendor performance monitoring and operational reporting.
- Strong focus on data accuracy, quality and timely customer reporting.
- Knowledge of invoice validation, sales invoicing and financial guidelines.
- Experience handling operational escalations, claims, disputes and issue resolution.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, coordination and follow-up skills, with good knowledge of import compliance and regulatory requirements.
