How you create impact
The Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist – Broker Handover ensures the timely and accurate transfer of documentation to customs brokers for efficient clearance. This role involves resolving documentation issues, collaborating with various stakeholders like terminals, carriers, and CBSA, and maintaining compliance with transport regulations to meet customer expectations within the Operational Care Centre (OCC).
- Ensure timely and accurate handover of shipping documents to customs brokers, obtaining necessary shipment information from carriers, NVOCCs, and overseas offices.
- Manage e-manifest filings for Canadian shipments, resolve related documentation issues using platforms like Descartes, and troubleshoot customs clearance or documentation problems in collaboration with OCC, AOCC, terminals, CBSA, SSLs, and brokers.
- Support broker handover automation by ensuring proper business profile setup and actively participate with the process and systems team to improve workflows and reduce waste.
- Maintain 100% compliance with the Code of Conduct, provide timely customer information, and coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to arrange necessary services like trucking and customs clearance.
- Utilize KPI dashboards to monitor and improve service quality, analyze reports for performance enhancements, and contribute to risk management and contingency planning.

What we would like you to bring
- 1+ years of experience in Customs, freight forwarding, or supply chain management, ideally with exposure to Sea Logistics.
- Proficieny in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, with the ability to identify issues, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Proactive problem-solver who is comfortable raising concerns, investigating discrepancies, and taking ownership of resolutions.

Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to navigate changing priorities and system disruptions while maintaining operational performance.

Experience with e-Manifest systems is an asset.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
