The Contract Logistics Transportation Coordinator is responsible for handling outbound domestic and international shipping including packing and labeling shipments. This role Involves comprehensive management of export trade compliance duties for the company and requires familiarity with local and international government regulations. Primary responsibility is to ensure the highest level of quality order fulfillment through order receipt to product delivery.

How you create impact

  • Prepare, process and ensure accuracy of essential export documentation, including but not limited to bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, Canadian export declarations (CERS or Canadian Export Reporting System Portal), certificates of origin (COO), and advanced ship notices.
    Ensure compliance with Canada Customs Export regulations and applicable trade regulations.
    Assess the eligibility of various Free Trade Agreements and/or CUSMA (Canada, United States and Mexico Agreement).
    Ensure transportation moves are performed according to the client's requirements and in compliance to Health Care Canada.
  • Compliance with Kuehne + Nagel’s QSHE requirements
  • Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines for drugs and health products
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments, providing follow up with internal and external customers
  • Manage shipment discrepancies, including root cause analysis
  • Organize Dangerous Goods (DG) shipments by air and road
  • Process sales orders using the SAP system for billing purposes
  • Serve as Air Cargo Representative, ensuring adherence to Transport Canada's known consignor program -
  • Prepare samples and commercial shipments as needed, maintaining critical metric datasheets
  • Client Billing: Accurate & timely processing
  • Carrier Payment: Accurate & timely processing
  • Other duties assigned within the department from time to time.
  • Know and adhere to the GXP including all guidelines and principles
  • Act in accordance with the GXP guidelines, Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Report / document all deviations and be compliant with the guidelines

What we would like you to bring

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant pharma experience, preferably in a 3rd Party Logistics organization
  • Minimum 3-5 years operational experience in a freight forwarding or shipping role
  • Advanced knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) as it relates to the distribution of pharmaceutical products
  • Preferred College Diploma or University Degree in International Trade or Supply Chain Management, etc.
  • Proactive problem solving and coordinating events for exception management, good organizational and prioritizing skills, strong written and verbal and communication skills
  • Use working instructions as well as judgement to identify when there is a shipment out of scope of the working instructions.
  • Proficiency with the English Language.
  • Light physical effort and fatigue. Walks, sits, or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Use of Personal Protective equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator occasionally.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
