Job Description
Mid/Senior Software Engineer

It's more than a job

In this IT role, you will manage, develop, and support the technology infrastructure that powers Kuehne+Nagel’s global systems and operations. This contribution is vital to making both special and ordinary moments in the lives of people a reality. In fact, your work enables our teams to deliver fresh fruit, time-sensitive healthcare products and much more to people all around the world. Working in IT at Kuehne+Nagel contributes to more than we imagine.

We are looking for a Mid/Senior Level Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Sea Logistics BPA (Business Process Automation) team in Wroclaw. You will contribute to the evolution of SeaLOG, Kuehne+Nagel's seafreight transport management system — specifically the process orchestration layer that determines what happens, to whom, and when, across automated freight workflows worldwide.

You write and own code, using AI agents as an effective productivity lever. You bring engineering judgment, define intent, and ensure that what gets shipped is correct and maintainable. You will learn to model and automate complex logistics processes using Camunda and BPMN 2.0.

How you create impact

  • Independently design, implement, support, test, and deliver features in collaboration with stakeholders.

    • Write clean, maintainable code and take full ownership of what you ship.

    • Use AI tools effectively to enhance productivity in development, testing, and debugging.

    • Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.

    • Process Orchestration: Learn and leverage Camunda and BPMN 2.0 to model and steer complex business processes that power global Sea Freight operations.

    • Contribute to improving team workflows and engineering practices.

    • Participate in pair/mob programming and foster a culture of feedback.

    • Ensure software quality by implementing automated tests and performing thorough code reviews.

What we would like you to bring

   • Engineering Experience: Solid professional experience in the Java ecosystem.

    • BPA & Orchestration: Strong interest in Business Process Automation. While prior knowledge of Camunda or BPMN is not required, you are motivated to learn and use them to orchestrate complex logistics workflows.

    • AI Ownership: Practical experience using AI tools/agents in development or strong motivation to adopt them.

    • System Reasoning: Ability to understand system behavior, failure modes, and long-term maintainability.

    • Technical Stack: Java, Spring, Hibernate, testing frameworks (JUnit, Cucumber), relational databases, and build/automation tools (Maven, Git, Jenkins). As a plus: Angular, OpenShift, Docker.

    • Agile Mindset: Comfortable with self-organization, communication, and collaborative development.

    • Language: Fluent written and spoken English.

What's in it for you

At Kuehne+Nagel, you’ll work in a modern engineering environment where innovation, collaboration, and ownership are part of everyday work. You will have the opportunity to shape globally used logistics solutions while working with modern technologies, cloud-native approaches, and AI-augmented development practices.

We offer a hybrid work model, opportunities for continuous learning, and clear career development paths. You’ll join a team that values knowledge sharing, experimentation, and continuous improvement while contributing to products that support global logistics operations every day.
