Job overview

Contract Logistics Process Engineering Trainee works within Contract Logistics. In this case, She/He will operate for adidas Campus South, our new fully automated warehouse located in Mantua, which, with over 130,000 square metres, will represent an unparalleled example of excellence and innovation in automated technology operations.

 

The Process Engineer Intern will support the analysis, mapping and improvement of warehouse processes, working closely with Operations, Quality, Process and Data Analysis teams. The role will contribute to identifying process deviations, inefficiencies and operational wastes, supporting the definition of quick fix actions aimed at improving productivity, process stability and visibility.

 

The intern will also support the development of reporting and forecasting tools to help operational departments monitor performance, anticipate workload and capacity needs, and make data-driven decisions. In addition, the role will contribute to translating operational processes into measurable drivers, costs and/or tariff components, supporting cost analysis, productivity evaluation and business case preparation.

 

This position is designed for candidates at their first professional experience, with a student background in engineering, logistics, process analysis, operational performance and continuous improvement.

 

Main learning tasks

  • Support the mapping and analysis of warehouse processes and assist in translating process maps into measurable drivers, costs and/or tariff components, supporting cost analysis, productivity evaluation and business case preparation
  • Participate in shopfloor observations and data collection activities to better understand process execution and identify practical improvement actions
  • Assist in identifying deviations from standard processes, highlighting gaps between expected and actual operational execution
  • Support the analysis of productivity, quality and operational performance data to detect inefficiencies, bottlenecks, recurring issues and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Process, Quality and Data Analysis teams to identify operational wastes, process deviations and quick fix actions aimed at improving productivity and process stability
  • Contribute to the development of tools and dashboards that provide visibility on operational performance, workload trends, capacity gaps and process adherence
  • Support the creation and maintenance of forecasting tools to help operational departments anticipate workload, capacity needs and potential criticalities
  • Learn and apply basic process improvement and problem-solving methodologies under the guidance of senior team members

 

Experiences

  • Applications from candidates at their first professional experience are welcome
  • Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related fields, or currently enrolled in a relevant academic program
  • Alternatively, ITS qualification or ongoing studies with a focus on logistics, supply chain or industrial/operational processes
  • Interest in warehouse operations, process analysis, continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making
  • Basic analytical skills and ability to work with operational data, KPIs and performance indicators
  • Good communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and hands-on approach
  • Good knowledge of English would be appreciated
