The National Contract Logistics IT Manager oversees the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) strategy across our contract logistics operations in Japan.
This role plays a critical part in aligning local operations with regional and global IT strategies, ensuring best-in-class warehouse management solutions and implemented and maintained. You will work closely with operations, engineering, and global stakeholders to drive system excellence, innovation, and scalability across the network.
How you create impact
- Drive across definition and continuous improvement across WMS operations
- Act as a Design Lead for WMS implementations, ensuring aligment with Kuehne+Nagel standards (e.g. Computer System Validation).
- Lead and manage WMS implementation projects, incuding configuration and deployment.
- Provide technical expertise across systems, intergrations, and advanced warehousing functionalities.
- Oversee and develop the Contract Logistics IT team, ensuring succseful delivery of implementations and support initiatives.
- Manage external partners, incuding scope definition, SLA's/KPI's, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure alignment of local systems and intergrations with regional and global IT strategies.
- Support operations and IT teams with functional and technical expertise as required.
- Drive adherence to Contract Logistics IT guidelines and project methodologies.
- Support account management activities including system performance reviews, improvements, and IT roadmaps.
- Guide the development of high-quality functional and technical specifications to support system enhancements.
What we would like you to bring
- 8-15+ years of experience in IT within contract logistics/warehousing enviroments.
- Strong experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including implementation and configuration.
- Proven experience leading IT projecs and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of system intergrations, automation, and advanced warehousing concepts.
- Experience managing external vendors and IT partners.
- Leadership experience with theability to mentor and develop teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within global or regional IT frameworks is highly desirable.
