How you create impact

The Sea Logistics Training Expert is responsible for facilitating onboarding and ongoing training programs for new and current employees within a specific area, focusing on operational systems, field competencies, and soft skills. This role emphasizes effective facilitation techniques to ensure engaging and productive learning experiences. Working closely with the National Training Manager and key stakeholders, the Training Specialist ensures that all training sessions are aligned with business needs, accurately documented, and impactful.

 

  • Facilitate onboarding, role-specific, and ad-hoc training programs for both new hires and current employees, using effective methods to engage, inspire, and motivate participants in their development journey.
  • Coordinate with the National Training Manager to plan and schedule training sessions aligned with the program's framework, ensuring seamless delivery for both new hires and current employees.
  • Post and announce training schedules and keep attendance via Corporate LMS. 
  • Support logistics and setup for training sessions, ensuring materials are prepared and technology is functional.
  • Encourage questions and discussions to deepen understanding, making sure that all trainees can follow along.
  • Use quizzes, group exercises, and interactive discussions to assess understanding during sessions.
  • Monitor participants’ engagement and adapt strategies as needed to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Follow up with participants who need additional assistance or support to ensure they reach training benchmarks. 
  • Maintain accurate records of training completions and progress, ensuring compliance with company requirements. 
  • Support the National Training Manager in reporting on training metrics and trends, highlighting completion rates and effectiveness. 
  • Distribute post-training surveys to gather participant feedback and assess session effectiveness. 
  • Work with the National Training Manager to review feedback analytics, helping to identify areas for improvement in future sessions and support implementation. 
  • Provide constructive feedback to participants and their managers to foster skill development and ensure training goals are met. 
  • Partner closely with the National Training team and internal stakeholders to identify and address training needs across the business unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assess current training gaps, recommend targeted programs, and coordinate with stakeholders to support strategic training initiatives that meet evolving business requirements.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and workshops, contributing insights on business processes and supporting collaborative projects as required.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness by providing observations and insights. Gather participant feedback to help inform improvements.
  • Drive feedback collection efforts from teams to provide valuable insights for enhancing existing training materials and plans, while ensuring alignment with the overall training strategy.

 

What we would like you to bring

  • 2+ years of experience in corporate training and facilitation, onboarding, and employee development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • Sales training experience preferred, including facilitating, developing, or supporting training programs for sales teams.
  • Experience within the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to engage and develop employees across various levels of the organization.
  • Flexible approach to learning and development, with the ability to adjust training methods and materials to support evolving business needs and varied learning styles.
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback, performance metrics, and data analysis, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
