Project Logistics Marine Coordinator Specialist

The Marine Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing marine operations at the project site, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role covers vessel scheduling and movements (berthing, mooring, crew changes), coordination with internal teams, vessel crews, and regulatory authorities, as well as logistical support such as fuel and provisions. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.

How you create impact

  • Ensure full compliance with the Client Marine Terminal Handbook, Comobodock and BOF regulations, and all applicable marine operational standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marine Manager to develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures for the site.
  • Act as the main interface for marine activities, coordinating with the KN Site Manager, onshore teams, and client stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with Internal Project Teams, Client Project Teams, and the Jakarta Operating Centre.
  • Represent the company in Client Marine operational meetings at site.
  • Schedule and coordinate vessel operations including arrivals, departures, crew changes, equipment, and supply logistics.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with maritime laws, environmental regulations, and offshore/port safety protocols.
  • Liaise with Client, vessel crews, shipping agents, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day marine operations and traffic monitoring, addressing issues promptly and coordinating with the cargo handling team and other shore activities.
  • Manage documentation and reporting, including permits, vessel activity records, and operational reports.
  • Drive risk management by identifying potential issues, implementing preventive measures, and ensuring adherence to proper procedures.
  • Conduct regular onboard verification checks to confirm compliance with certifications, notices, and procedures.
  • Perform routine vessel walkabouts (especially MPVs and LCTs) to verify equipment condition and vessel standards.

What we would like you to bring

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, or equivalent.
  • Mandatory: Class 1 Master Certificate of Competence (Unlimited).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marine operations in the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience in LNG terminal project operations or marine construction is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • OPITO BOSIET
  • K3 MIGAS Supervisor-Level Certificate (issued by PPSDM MIGAS)

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of STCW, ISM, and international marine regulations.
  • Strong grasp of vessel vetting, mooring practices, and emergency preparedness.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.
  • Fluent in English is a must. 
  • Able and willing to travel to project sites as required.
