As a Customer Onboarding Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful onboarding of new customers. You will be responsible for defining operational processes in alignment with the customer’s sales and operations planning workflows and the Kuehne+Nagel Blueprint. With strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving, you will collaborate closely with customers, Operations, technical teams, and the Finance organization to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and drive continuous process optimization
How you create impact
- Create customer‑aligned logistics processes that also meet internal operational standards and Blueprint requirements;
- Ensure all process changes support business objectives, including productivity and cost‑driver models;
- Identify and escalate any process deviations that conflict with operational or business goals;
- Communicate requirements clearly and explain complex processes to customers and cross‑functional teams;
- Anticipate onboarding roadblocks and proactively develop solutions to reduce risks;
- Document and analyze customer requirements thoroughly to ensure scalable, adaptable solutions;
- Challenge inefficient customer requests and recommend improvements that support long‑term operational efficiency;
- Lead client workshops to align expectations, explain standard processes, and support smooth onboarding.
What we would like you to bring
- More than 5 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a similar operational environment;
- Senior‑level presence with the confidence to lead projects, interact with senior stakeholders, and communicate clearly to explain technical and operational concepts effectively.
- Proven experience in logistics process analysis and financial controlling or accounting;
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges;
- Detail‑oriented mindset with strong documentation and process‑configuration skills;
- Ability to critically assess and optimize customer requirements for long‑term success;
- Experience leading client workshops and coordinating across multiple teams;
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder‑management skills;
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred)
- Flexibility to travel up to 25% and a valid driver’s license.
