Job Description
Human Resources Manager, City Zone Express

It's more than a job

As part of the HR team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will help build careers, nurture talent, and empower people to succeed. Your work doesn’t stop at HR - it drives the entire supply chain forward. By attracting and developing the right people, you ensure that our operations run smoothly, so medical equipment reaches hospitals on time, toys arrive in stores for the holidays, and fresh flowers make it to local florists. Every great logistics solution starts with great people - and that’s where you come in.

How you create impact

  • Lead and oversee full-spectrum HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, and total rewards.
  • Lead the implementation of the new payroll system, ensuring seamless integration with PeopleHub & BIPO to support accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations.
  • Lead the Annual Salary Review & Bonus exercise, ensuring timely and accurate compensation adjustments.
  • Drive the PeopleHub goal-setting process through training, guidance, and full completion of objectives.
  • Lead the Great Place to Work (GPTW) survey process, driving employee engagement and implementing improvement plans based on survey outcomes.
  • Champion employee wellbeing initiatives that promote physical, mental, and emotional health.
  • Source and manage Learning Management System (LMS) platforms to support compliance training initiatives.
  • Standardize employee job titles and roles in line with the KN job classification and coding framework.
  • Partner with CZE and KN HR entities to align policies, employee relations, compliance, and talent development initiatives across all operational regions.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through workforce planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives.
  • Develop and execute talent strategies that attract, retain, and develop talent while strengthening employer branding and competitiveness.
  • Utilize HR data and analytics to provide actionable insights for business and talent decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external labour laws while proactively mitigating HR-related risks.
  • Coach and advise senior leaders and people managers on complex employee matters, organizational dynamics, and talent decisions.
  • Enhance employee experience through feedback-driven HR programmes that support wellbeing, career growth, and workplace satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated, business-aligned people solutions.

What we would like you to bring

  • Strong people leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading and developing HR teams through transformation and change.
  • Solid end-to-end HR expertise across the full HR spectrum, with the ability to operate independently and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law, industrial relations, and HR compliance.
  • Experience handling employee relations matters, mediating grievances, and confidently addressing infringements of employment legislation.
  • Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to balance differing priorities and drive adoption of MNC practices and governance standards.
  • Experience leading organizational change and cultural transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to establish governance, processes, and controls, including implementing strong checks and balances and driving adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills to build capability within the HR team and improve stakeholder management effectiveness.
  • Resilience and adaptability in navigating ambiguity, resistance to change, and complex organizational dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in integrating HR processes, systems, and practices following business acquisitions or transformation initiatives would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on environment while balancing strategic priorities and operational execution.
