Kuehne + Nagel is market leader in the Netherlands in the field of Airfreight. From 4 locations at and around Schiphol Airport, a team of some 500 people work hard 24/7 to import and export an international flow of goods. Healthcare is one of the business units of the Air Logistics division. This team deals specifically with the Import and Export of Healthcare supplies. We are looking for a driven Forwarding Agent.
In this position, you will be responsible for the timely, correct, and efficient handling of clients' outsourced logistics flow of goods. To hold this challenging position in Healthcare department, you will preferably have work experience in a similar role as an Air Freight Forwarder but we are open to starters or new comers in the business as well. With the right mindset, you can be of value within our team.
Providing top-notch service to our key healthcare customers is paramount, and you will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to guarantee the smooth execution of export shipments. Your duties will encompass overseeing order processes from start to finish, proactively addressing any logistical challenges that may arise, and resolving escalations in a timely and systematic manner. As a vital member of our team, you will join a cohort of 10 other dedicated customer care professionals and report directly to the Team Lead for Healthcare. How you create impact
- Maintaining frequent contact with customers and taking care of import/export shipments;
- Liaising with our carriers and subcontractors, Keeping track of shipments;
- Continuously and proactively strive, together with your team, for further optimisation of the processes and turn these into concrete plans;
- Commercial handling of shipments, taking into account rates and nature of the orders;
- You identify and mitigate risks such as delays, damages or regulatory compliance issues. Proceed to analyse and resolve these incidents, initiating improvement actions and monitoring their implementation;
- You work closely with your colleagues within our organisation to develop creative and/or innovative solutions to our customer's needs;
- Together with your team, you ensure that all work instructions, SOP & processes are set up and also maintain them, in addition to follow-up /updates of the software systems within your responsibilities.
What we would like you to bring
- MBO+ working and thinking level, Logistics related education background would be an asset;
- Work experience present in a similar position, ideally in an air cargo/forwarding environment, and it is a plus if you have Healthcare knowledge. Starters or recent graduates with logistics studies are also welcome;
- Proficient in the MS Office package;
- You have a customer- and service-oriented attitude;
- Attention to detail and able to multitask, work accurate and structured;
- You prefer to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and are able to prioritise and shift gears quickly, with a stress resilient approach;
- Good communication skills, both oral and written: Excellent command of the English language is a must, both verbally and in writing. Dutch is an asset.
- You are 40h per week available.
