We are seeking a dynamic National Insurance (Nacora) Manager to lead the delivery of innovative insurance solutions across the Kuehne+Nagel ecosystem in South Africa. This role sits at the intersection of logistics and insurance, driving business growth through embedded insurance offerings while ensuring effective risk management, claims excellence, and operational efficiency across Africa.

How you create impact

  • Drive business growth by embedding insurance solutions (marine cargo, credit, specialty) into logistics operations and expanding customer adoption.
  • Lead and inspire high-performing teams across underwriting, operations, and claims, fostering a strong performance culture.
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships with insurers, reinsurers, and key clients to optimise risk solutions and commercial outcomes.
  • Oversee end-to-end claims management and operational processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and exceptional client experience.
  • Define and execute the national strategy, identifying new growth opportunities, driving innovation, and scaling insurance solutions across Africa.

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification preferred).
  • Must meet regulatory requirements to be appointed as a Key Individual in terms of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, including FAIS compliance, RE5 AND RE1 certifications.
  • Professional insurance qualifications such as AIISA, FIISA, ACII, FCII, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in insurance broking or underwriting, with strong exposure to marine cargo, credit, or specialty lines.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving business growth within a commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of freight-forwarding and logistics ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, including insurers, reinsurers, and corporate clients.
  • Solid financial acumen, including P&L management and performance tracking.
