Contract Logistics Operational Contract Manager

As a contract logistics specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will oversee warehouse operations comprehensively for our clients. By managing these operations rigorously, you not only support the success of your team but also the daily operations and performance of warehouses and distribution centers. For example, this includes managing the storage and delivery of delicate flowers as well as fresh ingredients intended for local businesses, for daily meals and family events. How you create impact
- Manage and optimise daily warehouse operations to meet service, cost, productivity, and safety objectives.
- Plan and allocate labour, equipment, and resources to ensure smooth and efficient site operations.
- Drive performance against KPIs related to customer service, productivity, quality, and profitability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and exceed productivity targets.
- Support customer onboarding, contract retention, and operational excellence through strong collaboration and engagement.
- Prepare and present regular operational and financial performance updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and manage P&L performance with clear analysis of service and cost variances.
- Contribute operational input into tenders and proposals to support new business growth.
- Build, train, and develop high-performing teams focusing on capability development and succession planning.
- Collaborate closely with internal support functions and external service providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards while leveraging systems and tools to drive consistency and performance.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Support teams to ensure successful contract execution and long-term customer satisfaction.

What we would like you to bring
- At least 5 years of proven experience managing warehouse or contract logistics operations in a 3PLenvironment
- Strong understanding of KPIs across cost control, productivity, service levels, and profitability
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing operational teams
- Ability to manage customer relationships and present operational and financial performance updates
- Commercial awareness, including P&L management and variance analysis
- Experience supporting tenders, proposals, or new business activities
- Strong stakeholder management skills with internal teams and external service providers
- A continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated success in driving productivity initiatives
- Strong understanding of KPIs across cost control, productivity, service levels, and profitability
