Customs Supervisor

As Customs Supervisor, you will oversees and manage the customs operations of a company or organization, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures. This role involves leading and managing a team of customs specialists, processing customs entries, and providing exceptional customer service to clients

How you create impact

  • Review, analyze, and process customs documentation to facilitate the accurate filing of entries with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Research tariff classifications and ensure accurate entry transmission.
  • Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and all applicable Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements.
  • Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies and compliance issues.
  • Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, customs officials, and internal stakeholders regarding shipment status, documentation requirements, and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth cargo clearance and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with file creation, maintenance, and billing activities as required.Supervise, coach, and support a team of Customs Brokerage Entry Writers.
  • Assign workloads, customer accounts, and daily operational tasks to team members.
  • Monitor team productivity, service quality, and compliance performance.
  • Assist the Customs Brokerage Manager with departmental leadership, performance management, and operational initiatives

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelors Degree in a field like international business, supply chain management, or international relations
  • 4+years of experience in customs operations or brokerage with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and customs clearance procedures
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and international transportation concepts.
  • Experience using customs brokerage systems and related compliance tools
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and customs clearance procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team coordination capabilities
