Contract Logistics WMS Operational Specialist

It's more than a job

The Contract Logistics IT Specialist provides hands-on IT and systems support at site level, with a focus on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and, where applicable, Transport Management Systems (TMS).

Working closely with warehouse operations, customers and internal IT teams, you'll troubleshoot system issues, manage change requests, support implementations and help users get the most from our technology.


Responsibilities

IT & Systems Support

  • Provide first-level support for operational requests, system issues and day-to-day troubleshooting.
  • Investigate system issues and coordinate resolution with internal and external IT stakeholders where required.
  • Support the stability, performance and continuous improvement of site-level WMS and TMS solutions.
  • Work closely with warehouse teams to understand operational challenges and translate them into practical system solutions.

Change & Implementation Management

  • Manage change requests from initial requirements gathering through to configuration, testing, training and go-live support.
  • Consult with customers and operational stakeholders to understand requirements and define appropriate system solutions.
  • Coordinate system testing and ensure changes are properly validated before implementation.
  • Support system implementations, enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Systems & Data

  • Define logical mappings and functional specifications for system interfaces and reporting developments.
  • Support the development and maintenance of system integrations.
  • Design and build BI dashboards that provide meaningful operational and business insights.
  • Analyse system and operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement.

Training & User Support

  • Train superusers and key users on core system processes and new functionalities.
  • Develop user guidance and supporting documentation where required.
  • Provide ongoing support to users and help improve system adoption across the site.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and operational users.


 

Requirements

  • Completion of Year 12 and/or relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in IT support, systems support, warehouse systems or a related operational technology environment.
  • Hands-on experience with WMS is highly desirable.
  • Experience providing end-user support and troubleshooting operational system issues.
  • Experience managing system changes, testing and implementation activities.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with reporting, BI dashboards or data analysis is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
