Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Montréal-Nord, QC Canada Site is looking for a new Human Resources Manager to join our Contract Logistics team. 

How you create impact

The HR Manager will lead all HR functions for a high-volume sort center operating within a 4PL logistics environment. This role provides strategic and operational HR support to ensure a compliant, engaged, and high-performing workforce while partnering closely with site leadership and the 4PL provider.

HR Business Partnership

  • Partner with site leadership and 4PL operations teams to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Support organizational design, workforce optimization, and productivity initiatives.
  • Assist with peak season staffing strategies and labor flexibility planning.

Workforce Planning & Staffing

  • Lead workforce planning based on operational volumes and labor requirements.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Coordinate staffing levels, agency labor usage, and workforce performance with the 4PL provider.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations matters.
  • Conduct investigations, resolve workplace issues, and ensure consistent policy application.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, inclusion, and collaboration.

Compliance & Labor Governance

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and 4PL contractual requirements.
  • Maintain audit readiness for labor, safety, and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee attendance management, timekeeping, and disciplinary processes.

Performance Management

  • Drive performance management processes aligned with operational KPIs including productivity, quality, and attendance.
  • Coach managers on employee development and performance improvement plans.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.

Compensation, Training & Development

  • Partner with corporate HR on compensation practices and local market alignment.
  • Support pay practices, overtime administration, and benefits communication.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate leadership, operational, and safety training programs.

HR Metrics & Stakeholder Management

  • Track and analyze HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, and productivity trends.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support operational decision-making.
  • Act as the liaison between HR, operations, and the 4PL provider while maintaining strong vendor relationships and company culture.

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
  • Experience supporting outsourced operations, including 3PL/4PL providers or staffing agencies.
  • Proven ability to support high-volume hourly workforce environments.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in French and English (English-speaking clients)
