As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. You will be part of our Contract Logistics team adding your leadership expertise and skills to the delivery of operational excellence.
How you create impact
You will be responsible for the overall performance of distribution operations across one or more locations ensuring the achievement of all agreed financial + operational objectives. The activities needed to deliver these objectives include:
- To manage, plan, organize staff + transport sub-contractors (company fleet + drivers where applicable).
- To work closely with warehouse management teams, ensuring efficient operational execution within a
collaborative environment. - To achieve your key performance indicators (KPI) in the areas of cost management, productivity, customer
service + profit, safety + compliance in line with our policy. - To ensure your team(s) deliver against their customer, site + people key performance indicators (KPI).
- To lead all activities relating to customer on-boarding, retention + operational excellence, while also
supporting business development teams. - To deliver productivity via engagement activities to create new initiatives, focusing on continuous
improvement at all times, ensuring your operations meet or exceed productivity targets. - To provide information required for tenders/proposals to support closing of new business + retention of
existing business.
What we would like you to bring
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or related industries.
- Direct experiences in 3PL operations would be preferable.
- Able to speak and understand English at a functional level for daily business communication.
- Good in MS Excel such as Pivot Table, VlookUp, Power Query etc.
