In this IT role, you will manage, develop, and support the technology infrastructure that powers Kuehne+Nagel’s global systems and operations. As Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer you will work in an IT team, where you will take care of maintaining and optimizing the entire infrastructure around a virtual Workspace. Within Kuehne + Nagel the virtual Workspace is crucial for a lot of people and for that reason independence and responsibility is part of this position. This is a position where you will apply your knowledge of and experience with Citrix / VMware is required. You are able to solve complex problems, perform migrations and provide sound advice if required. Some examples of things you will be involved with in this position: Migrations, setting up and maintaining systems that are available 24 hours a day and you will ensure that the management of these systems is also well organized.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize our (Enterprise) server environment;
• You participate as a specialist in projects, create technical designs and document the implemented solutions.
• You collaborate with various disciplines within our IT (Corporate) organization to realize projects;
• Execute and plan changes without disrupting the business process, including documenting and handing over to IT Support.
• You know better than anyone that the implementation of these changes can have a major impact on the business;
• You support our suppliers and users when there are IT technical problems;
• You are able to identify the requirements and wishes of our organization and translate them into IT solutions; 

Your Skills and Experience

• You have demonstrable HBO working and thinking level;
• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position in large ICT environment(s);
• At least 5 year working experience with Citrix DAAS or VDI
• Knowledge of scripting and automation of software and processes
• You enjoy sharing your knowledge with your team members;
• You are analytically strong and you think it's cool to work problem-solving;
• You are proactive, results-oriented and innovative;
• You have good knowledge of the English language in word and writing;
• You are available 40 hours per week.
