As part of the HR team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will help build careers, nurture talent, and empower people to succeed. Your work doesn’t stop at HR - it drives the entire supply chain forward. By attracting and developing the right people, you ensure that our operations run smoothly, so medical equipment reaches hospitals on time, toys arrive in stores for the holidays, and fresh flowers make it to local florists. Every great logistics solution starts with great people - and that’s where you come in.

Your primary objective will be to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, manage time and attendance systems, and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes to support smooth operations.

You will serve as a crucial point of contact for the payroll system, working closely with the provider and IT team to swiftly resolve any system-related issues, ensuring smooth operations and minimal disruption.

You will be a trusted advisor to employees, providing clear and reliable payroll-related information while collaborating with HR and other departments to resolve inquiries, ensuring positive employee experiences.

You will actively support the successful rollout of HR-related projects, ensuring they align with local business needs and contribute to the broader organizational strategy, driving effective HR practices.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Management

  • To ensure accurate, timely processing of employee salary, contributing to smooth operations and employee satisfaction.
  • To safeguard the organization by ensuring full compliance with Malaysian tax laws, EPF, SOCSO, and other statutory obligations, reducing legal and financial risks.
  • To optimize leave and attendance management, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while supporting employees' needs.
  • To resolve payroll-related issues promptly, fostering positive employee relations and trust in the payroll process.
  • To provide accurate payroll records and reports that assist in financial planning, budgeting, and business analysis.
  • To ensure smooth final settlements for departing employees, contributing to positive exits and upholding company standards.
  • To maintain fairness in salary processing and ensure compliance with legal regulations, supporting the organization’s integrity.

Business Partner

  • To ensure a positive and productive experience for employees throughout their lifecycle with the company.
  • To create and support strategies that boost employee engagement and retention.
  • To provide guidance on people management, compliance, performance management, and disciplinary issues.
  • To facilitate leadership and employee behavior changes that support organizational transformation.
  • To improve internal communication, keeping platforms updated and policies relevant.
  • To proactively work on improving HR activities for better effectiveness.
  • To provide valuable insights from people-related data to support decision-making.
  • To collaborate with leadership to ensure HR efforts contribute to the company’s success.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Payroll Specialist:
    • 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, with strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory contributions (e.g., EPF, SOCSO).
    • Computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
  • Business Partner:
    • 1-3 years of experience in HR or related administrative roles, with exposure to HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
    • Proven experience in managing the employee lifecycle, driving employee engagement, and fostering talent development to ensure a motivated and high-performing workforce.
    • Expertise in resolving employee relations issues, performance management, and navigating disciplinary matters, ensuring a positive and productive workplace culture.
    • Strong track record of collaborating with leadership to strategically align HR initiatives with business objectives, contributing to organizational growth and success.
    • Demonstrated ability in driving organizational change and optimizing HR processes, resulting in increased efficiency, employee satisfaction, and improved business outcomes.
