As a member of the Road Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and reliable transportation of goods across Romania. By leading our LTL/FTL operations, you will contribute to delivering exceptional service, driving operational excellence, and supporting the continued growth of our road logistics business.
As National LTL/FTL Operations Manager, you will lead and develop the road freight operation, ensuring high service quality, operational efficiency, and profitable growth. You will be responsible for managing transportation operations across multiple locations, leading geographically dispersed teams, and developing a sustainable carrier network. Acting as a key partner to Sales, Customer Service, and other stakeholders, you will ensure operational excellence while supporting the achievement of business objectives.
How you create impact
• Lead the national LTL/FTL operations and ensure consistent service delivery across all locations
• Drive operational performance, productivity, and profitability through effective resource and process management
• Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team across multiple cities and locations
• Define and execute carrier management strategies, including performance management and capacity planning
• Ensure effective deviation management and rapid resolution of operational issues
• Monitor and analyze operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required
• Collaborate closely with Sales teams to support new business opportunities and customer growth
• Maintain compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and operational procedures
• Foster strong relationships with carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders
What we would like you to bring
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a senior LTL/FTL Operations Management role within the Road Logistics segment
• Proven experience managing national transportation operations and geographically dispersed teams across multiple locations
• Strong knowledge of the Romanian and European road freight market, especially LTL and FTL operational models
• Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence, productivity improvements, cost optimization, and profitable growth
• Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing, coaching, and developing operational teams
• Solid experience in carrier management, subcontractor relations, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring
• Strong commercial awareness and customer-oriented mindset
• Experience working with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and advanced MS Office applications
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Fluency in Romanian and English
