Air Logistics Perishables Customer Care Specialist

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will manage your own portfolio of customers and represent Kuehne+Nagel externally. You will support the Customer Care Location team by handling communication, rate and route administration, and providing solutions through your Airfreight Forwarding expertise. Your role includes coordinating shipments, resolving inquiries and complaints, and ensuring customers receive the best service possible. You will collaborate closely with Operational Care, Finance, and Sales teams to complete all operational and administrative tasks.

How you create impact

  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with customers, informing them about rates, options, and shipment updates.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of buying/selling rates to all relevant internal teams.
  • Monitor market rates, capacity needs, and customer volumes, raising alerts when deviations occur.
  • Coordinate shipments, process bookings, and act immediately in cases of delays, cancellations, or operational issues.
  • Serve as the main escalation point for complaints, ensuring root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments (OCC, Airport Operations, Billing, Finance, Claims, Sales) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support Finance with customer account status and follow up when needed.
  • Identify new business opportunities and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers.

What we would like you to bring

  • Technical, Technologist, or Professional degree in International Trade, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience in Customer Service within Freight Forwarders and/or airlines.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with import and export air operations.
  • Experience managing commercial relationships with airlines.
  • Understanding of perishable cargo handling and requirements.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
