Kuehne+Nagel Integrated Logistics designs, implements and executes 4PL services for companies around the globe. As our Senior Operations Specialist, you will plan, coordinate and monitor transportation services tailored to our customers’ needs, with a particular focus on complex and oversized cargo.
In this role, you will take responsibility for the operational planning and execution of international oversized transports. You will combine strong transport operations experience with hands-on expertise in cargo and route analysis, specialized equipment, permits, subcontractor coordination and operational risk management.
As a Senior Operations Specialist, you will coordinate transport activities on behalf of our customer’s logistics department. You will manage transport requests from planning through execution, monitor shipments and handle deviations, while working closely with customers, Kuehne+Nagel teams, carriers and other external partners.
A key part of your role will be planning and executing oversized transports, ensuring that complex shipments are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with applicable operational and regulatory requirements.
How you create impact
- Plan and coordinate international transport operations, including inbound and outbound shipments across different transport modes
- Plan and execute oversized transports, including cargo assessment, route analysis and selection of suitable specialized transport equipment
- Coordinate permits, regulatory requirements, escorts, carriers, subcontractors and other parties involved in oversized transport operations
- Assess operational risks and ensure appropriate cargo securing and safe execution of complex transport movements
- Secure required transport capacity and equipment, coordinate pickup and delivery appointments and verify transport documentation
- Monitor shipments throughout execution, proactively manage deviations and escalate critical issues when required
- Maintain clear communication with customers, shipping and receiving locations, carriers and other operational stakeholders
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of operational processes by providing expertise, feedback and testing new solutions
What we would like you to bring
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in logistics or transport operations, with practical experience in planning and executing oversized transports
- Strong knowledge of oversized cargo and route analysis, specialized transport equipment, cargo securing, permits and relevant regulatory requirements
- Experience coordinating international oversized transports, including carriers, subcontractors and escort services, as well as managing operational risks and deviations
- Fluent English, both written and spoken, combined with strong customer communication skills and the ability to manage time-critical transport operations
- Strong attention to detail, ownership and problem-solving skills, as well as confident use of MS Office, particularly Excel
