Lead Procurement Manager

Kuehne+Nagel is one of the world's leading logistics providers. Within our Integrated Logistics organization, we are looking for an experienced Lead Procurement Manager to drive strategic procurement activities for global customer programs.

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of customer-specific sourcing strategies, build long-term partnerships with transport providers, and ensure competitive, resilient, and cost-effective logistics solutions across multiple transport modes. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while leading procurement managers and driving continuous improvement across the procurement function.

As Lead Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for defining procurement strategies that align with customer requirements and business objectives while leading complex sourcing initiatives across international logistics operations.

You will combine strategic procurement, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, market intelligence, and leadership to ensure the best transport solutions for our customers. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify new business opportunities, optimize procurement performance, and contribute to the long-term success of Integrated Logistics operations.

How you create impact

  • Develop and execute customer-specific procurement strategies and long-term sourcing roadmaps
  • Lead complex RFQs, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and strategic procurement projects across multiple transport modes
  • Build, develop, and manage long-term relationships with transport providers while identifying and onboarding new logistics partners
  • Analyze transport markets, supplier capabilities, and commercial opportunities to support strategic decision-making
  • Drive procurement performance, coach Procurement Managers, and support their professional development
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to optimize logistics solutions, costs, and service performance
  • Ensure procurement governance, contract compliance, and adherence to internal quality and documentation standards
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen procurement processes, supplier performance, and operational excellence

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics operations, procurement, or strategic sourcing, including leadership experience
  • Strong expertise in transport procurement, supplier negotiations, RFQs, multimodal logistics, and market intelligence
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and analytical skills with a process-driven mindset
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally when required
