Kuehne+Nagel is launching a large-scale automated warehouse integration project in Beringen, bringing together existing operations into one centralized logistics hub. For our growing Contract Logistics operation in Beringen, we are looking for a Team Lead Inventory who combines strong people leadership with an analytical mindset and a passion for operational excellence.
In this role, you will take ownership of inventory accuracy across the warehouse operation and play a key role in ensuring reliable stock management processes. You will lead both operational and administrative inventory teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating closely with Operations, Customer Service, Planning, and customers.
This is a highly visible role that combines leadership, data analysis, stakeholder management, and process optimization within a fast-paced logistics environment.
As Team Lead Inventory, you are responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, inventory compliance, and the continuous improvement of inventory-related processes across the operation.
You will lead a team of inventory specialists and warehouse employees responsible for cycle counts, inventory investigations, reporting, and stock control activities. As owner of the Inventory Accuracy KPI, you will translate daily operational results into long-term improvements and drive actions that enhance inventory performance.
You will act as the key link between warehouse operations, support functions, and customers, ensuring inventory risks are identified, managed, and resolved effectively.
How you create impact
- Lead, coach, and develop both operational and administrative inventory teams
- Own and drive the Inventory Accuracy KPI through analysis, reporting, and corrective actions
- Manage cycle count programs, stock control processes, inventory audits, and discrepancy investigations
- Analyze inventory performance, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvement initiatives
- Translate operational data into meaningful insights and recommendations for management and customers
- Act as the first escalation point for inventory-related issues and ensure timely resolution
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Planning, Customer Service, and customers to optimize inventory performance
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, SOX controls, operational procedures, and inventory standard
What we would like you to bring
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management, stock control, warehouse operations, or a similar leadership role
- Previous people management experience and a proven ability to coach and develop teams
- Strong analytical skills with an affinity for reporting, KPIs, and data-driven decision-making
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with WMS systems; knowledge of Swiftlog, Business Objects, or inventory reporting tools is an advantage
- Experience with Lean, Operational Excellence, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Fluent English; Dutch is considered an advantage
- Hands-on mentality with the ability to switch between operational details and strategic improvements
