How you create impact
As a Customs Trainer, you will play a key role in ensuring that the GS Customs team remains operationally ready, consistently trained, and fully aligned with core standards. In this role, you will:
- Deliver formal training sessions (both virtual and in-person) and lead on-the-job learning to strengthen day-to-day execution.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and application of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and all critical customs processes.
- Monitor training effectiveness through key performance metrics such as error reduction, SLA compliance, and productivity improvements.
- Promote a culture of ownership, quality, and collaboration across teams, reinforcing standards through coaching and influence.
- Support leaders in performance discussions and escalation handling by providing insights related to capability and process adherence.
- Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to embed efficiency initiatives and reduce variability in execution.
- Contribute to cost-to-serve optimization by reducing rework and enabling stable, scalable operational performance.
- Act as a strategic enabler for the Customs area’s roadmap, providing insights to anticipate execution risks and support future growth.
What we would like you to bring
- High school diploma minimum.
- Intermediate–advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Intermediate–advanced English level (B2+).
- Solid knowledge of customs regulations and logistics processes.
- Experience in instructional design, adult learning, and blended learning methodologies.
- Experience working with operational systems such as CargoWise, Tracking System, or workflow tools.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills to engage diverse audiences.
- Leadership capabilities with a strong influence-driving and change management approach.
- A results-oriented, continuous improvement mindset.
Work schedule: Monday to Friday 7:45 am to 4:45pm Hybrid work Model
This position is subject to a rotating schedule and shift, which may vary between day, night, or mixed shifts. Your days off will also be assigned by the company, and both your schedule and days off may be modified with a minimum notice of five (5) business days.
