How you create impact

The Customs Area Business Partner acts as the key liaison between Kuehne+Nagel Global Services (KNGS) and Customs business stakeholders, driving business growth, process migrations, and operational excellence initiatives. This role is responsible for monitoring performance, supporting process transitions, ensuring alignment between countries and KNGS teams, and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and increase KNGS adoption.

 

 In this role, you will:

 

  • Lead and coordinate the migration of Customs processes from customer countries to KNGS, ensuring effective planning, communication, and execution.
  • Gather business and process requirements from customer countries and support the creation of operational work instructions.
  • Ensure all process, system, documentation, and resource requirements are aligned and completed prior to migration activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in JIRA and other demand management tools throughout migration projects.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance, service levels, volumes, migration progress, and business development targets.
  • Prepare and present reports that provide visibility into performance, challenges, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Customs teams to resolve operational, quality, and performance issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Drive the achievement of migration and business development objectives while promoting increased utilization of KNGS services.
  • Facilitate performance reviews and continuous improvement discussions with countries and KNGS stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with global process owners, production teams, training teams, and system experts to standardize and improve processes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service excellence and business alignment.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, improve service quality, and support strategic growth initiatives across Customs operations.
  • Handle confidential business information and customer data with professionalism and discretion.

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Customs Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in Customs operations, logistics, supply chain, shared services, or business process management.
  • Experience managing projects, process transitions, migrations, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural and matrix organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective decision-making and teamwork capabilities.
  • Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).

 

Work schedule: Monday to Friday 7:45 am to 4:45pm Hybrid work Model

 

This position is subject to a rotating schedule and shift, which may vary between day, night, or mixed shifts. Your days off will also be assigned by the company, and both your schedule and days off may be modified with a minimum notice of five (5) business days.
