It's more than a job
Are you ready to give your career a flying start and develop yourself into a strong manager within the logistics sector? Then Kuehne+Nagel is the place for you! We offer you a dynamic traineeship in an international environment, where you will be challenged every day to get the best out of yourself and strengthen your leadership skills.
As a Management Trainee within Contract Logistics, you will begin an inspiring two‑year program in which you complete four different assignments of six months each. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in various areas such as Operations, Engineering, Production Systems, and Business Development.
In addition to these challenging assignments, you will also work on your personal development. You will follow training in various Warehouse Management Systems, including LEAN Six Sigma and Project Management, helping you elevate your skills to the next level.
You are in control of your own development, supported closely by a team of experts: your personal buddy, mentor, project coach, HR Business Partner, and our Talent Manager are all there to guide you.
How you create impact
We provide a challenging traineeship and an extensive development program to give your career a strong kickstart. From you, we expect ownership and the drive to make the most of this opportunity so your journey becomes a true success story.
It is your adventure — we provide the tools, you deliver the results!
Examples of projects you may work on during this traineeship include:
• Setting up and implementing a control room for our site in Tiel.
• Environmental sustainability: mapping all sustainability activities and projects, measuring sustainability performance, making recommendations, and creating an implementation proposal — for all sites in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
• Working as a full-fledged supervisor (2 shifts) in operations, with a focus on process optimization.
What we would like you to bring
- A completed Master’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Engineering, or a related field — but other backgrounds are welcome as long as you have a strong interest in the dynamic world of logistics;
- A maximum of 2 years of work experience;
- As an international company, we expect you to speak and write fluent English. On the work floor, Dutch is mainly spoken, so it is essential that you have a good command of Dutch as well;
- Curious and entrepreneurial — if you see something that can be improved or done differently, we want to hear it;
- Additional experience such as an international internship, a board year, and/or volunteer work is a plus;
- Willingness to travel to different nearby locations.
What's in it for you
In addition to a steep learning curve on the job, you will follow a training program to further develop yourself personally. Through training in personal leadership, effective communication, and creating impact, you will work on your personal growth plan. You will also build strong connections with other trainees from various disciplines.
We offer a professional and ambitious work environment where entrepreneurship, personal development, and progress are central. All of this is supported by excellent employment conditions and plenty of opportunities to continue developing yourself.
With flexible working hours, we help you maintain the perfect work–life balance. In short, Kuehne+Nagel is a fantastic company to work for if you value freedom, responsibility, and growth opportunities.
