Reporting to the Sea Logistics Reefer Operational Care Supervisor, and a member of the centralised multiskilled operations team, you will have responsibility for handling export and import shipments, the related documentation and providing customer service for our customers across all locations

How you create impact

• Manage the Export and Import operations across various trade lanes. 
• Arrange bookings directly with transport companies and liaise with carriers and suppliers. 
• Create/complete shipment details in our internal transport management systems (carrier/vessel, item description etc). 
• Ensure that all documentation is completed as per company processes, customer and regulatory requirements and in a timely manner. 
• Invoicing to be completed at time of either delivery to the load port prior to loading on board, or prior to uplifting from the arrival port before delivery to the Consignee or their appointed receiver / warehouse / cold store. 
• Liaise with various external parties – shipping lines, NZ customs and overseas offices/agents.
• Monitor and report on operational performance of carriers and other vendors as well as ensuring strong data quality is available for timely and accurate customer reporting. 
• Coordinate with our customer care teams (CCL), haulers and carriers for the export of shipments and organise transport activities based on the customer promise. 
• Ensure costs and revenues are entered during the shipment creation, providing cost awareness and efficiency, ensuring profit maximisation 
• Support in resolving claims and disputes. 
• Provide customer service excellence – one on one interaction with customers. 
• Participate in customer onboarding and implementation, both internal and external. 
• Facilitate customer meetings both in person and online 
• • Prepare, review and refine customer reports. 
• Drive customer engagement, satisfaction & retention. • Establish and strengthen operational relationships with customer base. 
• Be proactive in communication with customers and drive customer excellence. • Document and resolve complaints and queries in a timely manner 

What we would like you to bring

• Previous experience and understanding of International Shipping and Freight processes. 
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritise your time effectively, especially when under pressure and with a busy workload.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, coupled with the ability to listen effectively. 
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks. 
• Excellent attention to details skills coupled with a high level of accuracy. 
• Ability to think outside the box and solve problems proactively. 
• Demonstratable initiative and drive to follow tasks through to completion. 
• Ability to build relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external. 
• Demonstratable experience of delivering exceptional customer experience. 
• Previous experience in a customer facing role highly advantageous.
