How you create impact
- Manage and perform all air import operational activities accurately, efficiently, and within established service level agreements.
- Coordinate import shipments from receipt of pre-alert documentation through customs clearance, cargo availability, and final delivery.
- Review and process import documentation, including Master Air Waybills (MAWB), House Air Waybills (HAWB), commercial invoices, packing lists, arrival notices, and customs-related documentation.
- Monitor shipment arrivals and proactively manage exceptions, delays, and service failures to minimize impact on customers.
- Ensure accurate and timely milestone updates within operational systems, maintaining shipment visibility and financial accuracy.
- Coordinate closely with Customs Brokerage, warehouse, and transportation teams to facilitate timely cargo release and delivery.
- Review and clarify operational instructions when discrepancies exist regarding routing, customs requirements, shipment details, rates, or customer expectations.
- Communicate shipment status, delays, and resolutions proactively to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Escalate operational issues, compliance concerns, service failures, or shipment irregularities to management as appropriate.
- Collaborate with carriers, overseas offices, gateways, warehouses, customs authorities, transportation providers, and service partners to ensure successful shipment execution.
- Monitor carrier and vendor performance and raise awareness when service commitments are not being achieved.
- Support cost management initiatives to maximize profitability while maintaining service excellence.
- Collaborate with Operational Excellence and Optimization teams to improve efficiency, leverage automation, and reduce manual processes.
- Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Support customer onboarding and implementation activities in partnership with Sales and Customer Care teams.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable import regulations, TSA requirements, CBP regulations, FDA requirements, and company policies.
What we would like you to bring
- 2+ years of experience in Air Freight Import Operations, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong understanding of air import processes, including shipment coordination, cargo arrivals, customs clearance, and final delivery execution.
- Experience reviewing and processing import documentation, including Air Waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs-related documents.
- Knowledge of U.S. import regulations and compliance requirements, with the ability to identify and resolve shipment discrepancies.
- Experience working with airlines, customs brokers, warehouses, transportation providers, and overseas offices to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Proficiency in CargoWise or similar freight forwarding and transportation management systems.
- Strong ability to track shipments, manage multiple priorities, and provide proactive communication regarding shipment status and exceptions.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused and service-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and other business systems.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, International Transportation, or a related field preferred.

Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
