To support efforts to service the air export product at the direction of the gateway manager. To lead and direct work done by gateway staff in terms of quantity, quality, and timeliness. To assist and support the gateway manager as directed to serve air export origin stations throughout the region and nation and destination stations throughout the world. To positively display and project the company’s culture. To help foster positive professional relationships with air carriers and other transportation service providers. To uphold Kuehne + Nagel’s code of conduct, policies, and procedures.

How you create impact

At the direction of the gateway manager oversee the work of the regional or national air export gateway staff:

• Prepare daily gateway consolidation plans.
• Effect gateway staff work assignments.
• Schedule the performance and timely completion of key gateway tasks.
• Coordinate work of warehouse and drayage resources to achieve targeted results.
• Hold gateway staff accountable for job assignments as directed and assist in staff performance evaluation.
• Communicate with origin and destination internal and as appropriate external customers.
• Assist in preparing for and conducting gateway conference calls and meetings.
• Perform CASS accounting assignments and assist managing the gateway FSL.
• Support attainment of gateway goals and objectives.
• Fulfill gateway desk-level duties as needed.
• Fulfill the gateway manager’s job duties and accountabilities in his/her absence.
• Support business process improvement initiatives at the gateway.
• Comply with and support efforts and processes designed to enhance air cargo security.
