How you create impact
The Aerospace Air Logistics Operational Team Leader oversees customer excellence by leading the Aerospace Operational Care team, ensuring high-quality service, and driving customer-centric operational execution. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with processes and regulations, optimizing efficiency, and fostering team development. As a subject matter expert, the manager aligns aerospace-specific requirements with operational activities and supports business development through solutions-driven strategies and stakeholder collaboration
What we would like you to bring
- Proven ability to lead and guide operational teams, driving performance and accountability within a fast-paced aerospace logistics environment.
- Strong expertise in airfreight operations and shipment management, with a focus on delivering high-quality, time-critical outcomes (e.g. AOG, engines).
- A mindset for operational excellence, with the ability to optimize processes, systems, and productivity.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to support cost optimization, pricing strategies, and profitability goals.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and solution-driven initiatives, with a focus on lean and efficient operations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (Customer Care, RCC, Gateway, Warehouse, Customs, Optimization teams) and external partners/suppliers.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards, ensuring full compliance in all operations.
- Experience in customer onboarding and implementation, with a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
- Confidence in handling escalations and complex operational challenges, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Capability to analyze performance metrics and drive improvements in data quality and execution standards.
- Willingness to coach and train team members, particularly on Aerospace & Defence vertical requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with national, regional, and global teams.
- Exposure to procurement and carrier/partner management, supporting vendor relationships and operational outcomes.
- Ability to work closely with Customer Service and Key Account teams to understand customer needs and enhance service delivery.
- A proactive approach to supporting business growth, including RFQs, spot quotations, and new customer development.
